What is the real cause people use to complain instead of taking action about anything?
When we dream of abundance, friendship, health, happiness, or romance, we seldom wonder how it affects our best interest or anyone else. When we dream of a specific employer, deadline, diet of the month, specific dollar amount, specific love interest, or specific house, we contradict ourselves frequently and may become stuck with an outcome. There are at least five levels of ‘responsibility’ but if you are stuck in one complaining lets you pass the blame elsewhere.
You must take personal responsibility. You cannot change the circumstances, the seasons, or the wind, but you can change yourself. That is something you have charge of. – Jim Rohn
‘Drive to the light’ is how racecar drivers operate at over 200mph. Keep your eye on the horizon, the end general enough that filling in the between with specifics is how to get there, not the final goal. Each intermediate goal is a temporary pit stop along the way, a place to fill up ones energy reserve on the accomplishment and set off as soon as possible for the horizon. Once in motion toward the light, a new intermediate goal will appear that takes you closer. Keep all your goals safe, if you share them with anyone; first KNOW they will help energize you on the way or keep them secret. The best rule, share and declare only accomplished goals publically.
Just as your car runs more smoothly and requires less energy to go faster and farther when the wheels are in perfect alignment, you perform better when your thoughts, feelings, emotions, goals, and values are in balance. – Brian Tracy [and in alignment!]
We succeed and fail based on our ability to create and live by powerful distinctions. If you only grok ‘picture’ but not ‘window’ or ‘door’ your escape from the rooms you find yourself in would be impossible. If you don’t know the difference between mushrooms and toadstools, you will be sick [or worse] often. We defend our points of view, our distinctions often to our death or others. Principles do not change but distinctions are something you can take on or put down, like a pair of special glasses, to see if what is there is really there or is just your ‘prescription’ altering the view.
The distinction between the past, present and future is only a stubbornly persistent illusion. – Albert Einstein
There are perhaps at least four ‘domains’ of knowing or knowledge. There is all that you know and there is all that you don’t know. Being more accurate, there is all that you know that you know and we tend to live comfortably within those myths and beliefs. There is what you know you don’t know and we are trained to find a doctor or some other expert to solve what we know we don’t know. I hope their knowing what they know is not mostly myth. [Global warming for example] Our direct source of all knowing is an unimaginably large place for what we don’t know that we don’t know. The ability to rummage, dawdle and observe what you don’t know that you don’t know is not taught in any school I attended. The classes are available however. The don’t know that you don’t know domain does have boundaries however, suggesting some other infinite area holding all of it. I mean the universe is expanding [as claimed since the ‘Big Bang’] to where and what is it expanding?
People who think they know everything are a great annoyance to those of us who do. – Isaac Asimov
A short aside about superstition and myth you must consider. Before anything is a myth or superstition, it was revered truth first. Black cats are unlucky is an example. Once this was really true and the myth still has power but they are just cats. Pretend for just a short while daily, that everything you see and ‘buy’ as true, is a myth or superstition that owns you. It will push you out of your comfort zone when you take on some other view or perspective. There is humor and wisdom in the exercise.
Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing. – Helen Keller
Until you are willing and able to change what and how you think, nothing in your life will change ‘buy’ your say so. What does is someone else’ say so.
